In Arcadia Quest, players lead guilds of intrepid heroes on an epic campaign to dethrone the vampire lord and reclaim the mighty Arcadia for their own. But only one guild may lead in the end, so players must battle against each other as well as against the monstrous occupying forces. Through the branching scenarios of the campaign, the heroes gain awesome new weapons and abilities, and the game remembers the heroic deeds of players from one session to the next, unlocking exciting new possibilities in future scenarios!.

Arcadia Quest is a miniatures boardgame for 2-4 players. Each player controls a Guild of 3 Heroes, competing to be the liberators of the city of Arcadia and, more importantly, becoming the richest Guild in the land!

Arcadia Quest is a lot like a World of Warcraft raid on a hapless NPC city, with Heroes working as a team, except that you're not the only Guild after the loot!

Gameplay Features

2-4 players
Each scenario plays between 45 to 60 min
No Game Master, everyone gets to play the Heroes!
Play with 3 Heroes as they fill their boots with monster Gold!
Modular campaign system - Multiple linked scenarios will eventually see the Guilds reclaiming the city of Arcadia.
Level Up and customize your Guild between scenarios with Loot and Equipment!

Players are able to choose the path their campaign takes, navigating through six out of eleven available scenarios, so each time the campaign is played it can have a different configuration of scenarios. As the campaign progresses, the heroes are able to acquire new weapons, equipment and abilities that give them powerful options to tackle the obstacles ahead. Furthermore, by fulfilling specific quests in a scenario, players unlock exclusive features in subsequent scenarios.

The rules in Arcadia Quest are fast and furious, and every player can focus on using their heroes’ abilities and equipment to achieve their goals, without the need for anybody to get stuck with the role of solely controlling the monsters.

Monsters are "aggroed" when Heroes attack them or come too close to the areas they are guarding. Once activated, monsters then follow simple rules and are controlled by the player on the right. This gives the perfect balance between an automated environment with a little intelligence, without bogging down the rules with complicated "if-then" game logic, or requiring a Game Master.

Sonja

“Go ahead and look. Sure, just stand still. Riiiight there. Ignore the sword. Watch the girl.” CHOP! WHACK! HACK!

As a young Guildswoman, Sonja heard about the renowned Armor of Invulnerable Offense. It was said to convey superior protection to its wearers, and had helped more than one warrior woman to achieve fame and glory. Sonja relentlessly sought this legendary suit of armor, and eventually tracked it to a dungeon not far from Arcadia. But, when she found it, she couldn’t believe her eyes! It was little more than a golden chainmail bikini!

Incensed and annoyed, she figured she might as well try it on. Alas, the Armor of Invulnerable Offense proved all too true to its name. The cursed armor could not be removed! Thus, Sonja discovered the true secret: The worst defense requires the perfect offense. Many years later, she has proven the truth of these words. … Though she’d still really like to get rid of that armor.

The Nameless Campaign

Lord Fang fled and the victorious Guild threw their Heroes a party (and let the losers attend to drown their sorrows). The party went long. Perhaps, a bit too long. For, when they all awoke after a drink or ten, they’d been banished! The sun was gone once more! And monsters stood on the walls and jeered.

The Nameless' plan was simple: drug the enemy with strong spirits and bedazzle them with festive party favors. The Nameless’s mighty horde descended from the mountains and piled the snoozing heroes beyond the gates. Eternal Night fell once again!

Now, in this darker time within the darkest time, the heroes must face this despicable Nameless Threat in yet another Arcadia Quest!

More monsters! More loot! More glory! (And, perhaps just a nice dinner party afterwards this time, hmm?)

Shipping information - Please take note

Based on past experience, we will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter concludes based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign concludes.

This is so we can be fair to all our backers as shipping is rarely one size fits all, and also give you more stretch goodies and possibly a choice of carrier options.

We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Depending on where in the world you are, we will either ship you from our hub in Germany (EU backers), China (Asia Pacific backers), or Atlanta (USA and the rest of the world). As a rough estimate, the game will cost about $11 to ship in the USA, about $20-$25 in the EU (due to VAT), and $11 to Hong Kong all the way up to $40 for Australia, but this may increase or decrease based on the quantity of stretch goals we might unlock and your carrier choices.

Risks and challengesLearn about accountability on Kickstarter

This is our 9th Kickstarter, and there are some vagaries in terms of timing when it comes to anything produced in China, such as:

Production delays
Shipping delays
Customs delays

We've done our best to minimize this as far as possible, and we are always happy to refund pledges if for some totally unforeseen reason the game can't be delivered at all. Since the game is 90% complete, we don't believe this is in the least bit likely - we've successfully delivered Zombicide, Sedition Wars, Guilds of Cadwallon, Zombicide Season 2 (first wave), Rivet Wars (first wave) and will be shipping Kaosball, Zombicide Season 2 (second wave) and Relic Knights shortly.

An ongoing project is Wrath of Kings which is currently in production.

Please refer to our individual project pages if you'd like to check the progress there. Each project is entirely independent of each other and have completely different development teams and have no effect on the production flow or development of Arcadia Quest
