Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce three new units and one accessory pack for Dust Tactics and Dust Warfare!
As Operation “Icarus” sets the stage for dramatic battles for the skies over Zverograd, the Axis forces that currently hold Zverograd’s airfield seek to gain an immediate and insurmountable edge from the deployment of their new jet, theHorten HO-347. SSU forces fuel their continued assaults by recovering VK from fallen walkers with their new series ofKV-47 Recovery & Demolition Walkers, and the Allies call upon the USMC Heavy Weapons Teams to carry heavy machine guns and artillery into position for their strikes against the airfield and those Axis forces taking shelter in theQuonset Huts of the new Airfield Accessory Pack.
Horten HO-347
The Axis bloc was the first to introduce jet technology to its fighter planes. Since then, Axis aircraft design has recently made a huge leap forward with the introduction of VK engines, allowing their newest aircraft to fly faster and climb higher than anyone believed to be possible just a few years ago. The latest generation engines even allow for near-stationary flight and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL).
The Axis’ top two engineers in the field, the Horten brothers, have been given effectively unlimited access to the resources they need to experiment with new designs, and their work on the HO-347 and its two variations, theFledermaus III and the Fledermaus IV, has placed the Axis on the brink of a long-awaited resurgence of air superiority.
The HO-347 Fledermaus III is both a fighter and a very effective ground-attack plane. Its light cannons can destroy other flying units in mere seconds. Its larger 75mm gun is perfect for attacking tanks or walkers at their weakest point – their thinner top armor. Despite its recent introduction, these planes have already proven extremely effective both on the Eastern front and in support of the NDAK (Neue Deutsches Afrika Korps).

HO-347 Fledermaus III
The fighter/bomber variant of the new Horten, the HO-347 Fledermaus IV carries numerous bombs under its fuselage. Despite their relatively small size, these bombs can be devastating when dropped directly on a target during a screaming low altitude run. As with other Horten variants, the Fledermaus IV also bristles with guns, allowing the pilot to attack both air and ground targets with ease.

KV-47 Recovery & Demolition Walker
For years the Soviet army had little concern for its vehicular losses. The Axis enemy battered at the gate and had to be repelled at all costs. SSU forces considered it fortunate if their heavy equipment could be salvaged or repaired, but many damaged machines were simply left to rust on the battlefield.
The SSU’s development of VK-powered walkers led to a change in philosophy. Even destroyed, these units were still very valuable for their rare minerals and parts. Now their forces operate under standing orders to salvage their wreckage or, at the least, destroy fallen vehicles properly, in order to prevent their enemies from capturing their VK technology.
Recovery operations of this complexity are difficult to accomplish on an active battlefield, but the SSU was determined to safeguard its military secrets. The urgency
of the situation and the bulky nature of the tech to be salvaged led to the utilization of walkers. A new generation of four different KV47s was created for the task, and each was retrofitted with specialized equipment to allow SSU regiments to protect their precious technology under combat conditions.
USMC Heavy Weapons Teams
The United States Marine Corps is one of the few military branches to have kept its distinct identity when the Allied bloc was formed. Even though an Allied Marine Corps has been created, the USMC remains a separate branch.
During the course of the war, the Marines have learned the hard way that heavy firepower is essential to achieving victory. The ability to move quickly over terrain is also vital, and a small team carrying heavy weaponry is sometimes the best option for getting fire support into position. These USMC Heavy Weapons Teams are veterans of many campaigns, men who can be trusted to come out on top even when heavily outnumbered.
With their .50 cal machine gun, The Choppers serve primarily as defensive support for allied units. When placed in cover, or inside a building, The Choppers can work wonders! Their firepower is enough to cause any enemy soldier unit to think twice about approaching within their range of fire, and their Advanced Reactive Fire skill allows them to reliably activate out of turn in order to shoot enemy units that cross their line of sight.

The Choppers
The Leathernecks weapon team has traded its .50 cal. for a 120mm heavy mortar, one of the most reliable weapons you can find for harsh environments. The mortar never jams, is easy to clean, and can be quickly moved from place to place. It also delivers quite a punch! Three men with one of these weapons can hold up an entire enemy company until reinforcements arrive. Their 120mm shells can even punch through the hulls of vehicles and walkers.

Quonset huts are a new type of structure introduced in Operation “Icarus.” Extremely popular in the world of Dust Tactics and Dust Warfare, quonset huts can be erected quickly and provide soldiers with a sturdy shelter against the elements. They can also be joined together to create longer structures with a variety of strategic arrangements.
Operation “Icarus” comes with four quonset hut sections, and the Airfield Accessory Pack allows you to further enhance your battlefields with another six sections. Add more cover. Develop new arrangements for your structures. Take your battles in all new directions.
